David Kerr (see Vis Com people, right) sent us this link from a friend of his, Tom Mower, whose company St Pierre & Miquelon have just been working on an EU Phrasebook: 27 Ways to Say, ‘No Doesn’t Really Mean No’. It is hoped that by documenting these linguistic twists and turns, this phrasebook will expose politicians’ contemptuous attitude towards the public – and say in plain English (or French, or Dutch) that no does actually mean no.
